Thing 7

No sooner did I have my Google Reader (personal playtime) up that I went running to my favorite Harry Potter websites to get the RSS onto it. Someone mentioned the Library Journal RSS feeds recently so while I was posting Thing 6 on one internet tab I was adding feeds from another to Bloglines on a 3rd tab. Some days I can multitask. I did look at the 4 search tools under the Thing 7. I put a couple of RSS's on Bloglines and another one on Google, but I thought syndic8.com was hard to maneuver through.

OK, I am trying new Things, even some things not on the list. This came in the Star Wars newsletter I signed up for to keep on top for my Fiction Selection part of my duties. I will give it to the Library if I win. It took 3 or 4 tries to get the right combination for it to post to the Blog.

Thing 6

For the RSS, I started with Bloglines, and did the suggested feeds manually, except for some of my fellow bloggers, since I am already following some on Blogger. I then set up a Google Reader also, to see if I liked it better. Then I did some exporting and importing so that Bloglines is my "business" RSS and Google is my "personal playtime" RSS. I like somethings about Bloglines and other things about Google Reader. I have over 1000 unread in Google Reader at the moment, oops.

Thing 5

Someone mentioned the re-learning curve in a post and I can really relate right now. I wrote Thing 4 on 11-4 and had Thing 5 done but not posted or blogged. I went ahead and did Google Talk because Blogger is on my Google page and had to twist my bookworm604 to book604worm to log on. I am trying to keep my identity mostly the same no matter which application I am working with.

I finally connected with Allana but had to go because of a phone call. She is following my blog. Cool. I just noticed today that Susan and Michael left comments. I am still glowing, ha ha.

Thing 4

Sometimes I blog and then post on the Thing which-ever-number site and sometimes I do it the other way around, and in the meanwhile I have done Thing 5 and started Thing 6.

Anyway, I did get Susan e-mailed to let her know I wanted to be enrolled for the credits and the chance to win the MP3. I have a 1GB Creative Zen Stone and have been very enthusiastic about letting patrons know about the Overdrive Digital Audio site.

Thing 3

OK, read all the directions and then do them in the order given. Yeah, right! Ha, ha! Reminds me of the test the teacher gives. Question 1 is read through all the directions before beginning. About midway through is the direction - Shout out your name. Last question - Put your name at the top of the paper and don't do anything else. Just hope you weren't one of the ones shouting.

First I skip Thing 2 and start by signing up for a blog only to realize that I can't get into it. I have to start over with a new (okay a modified) name and a 2nd and dead blog out there. Blogger doesn't have an easy contact us policy. There is quite an extensive help q&a but my question wasn't there.

Then I remember that people were commenting on the hardest and easiest of the 7 1/2 Things and I put them in my blog for Thing 2, not reading the directions, that they were supposed to be the contents of this blog. Oh well, if you want to know what they are you can go back and read Thing 2.

Thing 2

So often I just let life take me where it wants, so I think Habit 1 (the goal [end])is something I rarely do. I know I do way too much of Habit 7 1/2 - Play!!

This is my 2nd blogspot. Blog first before saving. Boy, am I learning new things. If at first it doesn't work, try again.
